States working together on NELC / School-to-Career Initiatives

NELC State Consortium

The National Employer Leadership Council (NELC) has launched a state consortium to develop a national technical assistance plan to expand the enhance business leadership in school-to-careers.

The NELC is partnering with School-to-Work coordinators and business leaders from Florida, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas and Wyoming to consider ways of improving resource gaps and services needed to strengthen employer involvement at the state and local levels.

The consortium is devising strategic outreach plans and resources that target small business, enact creative marketing strategies, and determine the return on investment for business leaders, educators, students, and government agencies involved in school-to-careers.

The NELC is acting as a central coordinator of this effort by compiling individual profiles of each state and outlining a customized technical assistance plan to fortifu employer involvement in school-to-careers at the state and local levels.
